Living Organisms may be classified as Virus, Fungi, Bacteria, Protist, Animals and Plants. Scientists saw it necessary to create a new group of Organisms called Protist. This was due to the fact that these Organisms possess both Plant characteristics and Animal characteristics. These Organisms are able to Photosynthesize a characteristic that Plants possess. These Organisms are also able to locomote a characteristic that Animals possess. In order for these organisms to locomote these Organisms are either ciliated or flagellated. These Organisms are able to photosynthsize because they possess chloroplast. In the presence of sunlight along with carbon dioxide and water the plant is able to manufacture its own food.
